Apple PowerMac G5 (g518xpro) Mac Desktop

Newbie Review by Greg Macintosh Newbie Product Reviewer:

This G5 PowerMac was one of the first created when Apple teamed up with IBM to use their new 64-bit processor technology. When all the techy talk has been bypassed and we understand that it makes many tasks easier and quicker and that the engine is suitable for all those power-hungry tasks like graphics and monster spreadsheets, we can get down to the simple numbers. A single G5 processor rated at 1.8 GHz powers the show and is ably supported by 512MB of SDRAM and a 160GB hard drive. Apple's excellent SuperDrive is also installed along with a modem, Ethernet and wireless support and plenty of ports and bays to upgrade in the future.

Pros:

Great G5 power, plenty of options for the future.

Cons:

Memory a little low as standard
