The D-Link DCM 201 (DCM-201) Modem provides intelligent IP allocation management which can be configured to work on a Static or DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) network. For security, the DCM-201 provides 56-bit DES (Data Encryption Standard) to encrypt data transaction for both upstream and downstream transmission.The DCM-201 has a maximum downloading speed at 38Mbps (256 QAM) and a maximum uploading speed at 10Mbps (16 QAM). “ Other reviewers have commented on it getting too hot, but my modem doesn't seem to get any warmer than any others that I've owned, so this hasn't been a problem at all “.
