The Gateway 550GR is an excellent choice for the home user who demands a little bit of everything out of their machine. Also, it is priced very well that even those users who wouldn't usually consider an off the shelf machine should take a look. At the heart of the PC is an Intel Pentium 4 3.2Ghz processor that keeps most tasks speeding along nicely. Memory is 512MB, which is fine for home use but heavy users may benefit from upgrading to the maximum of 2GB. The CD-ROM and DVD-RW are set in the casing as two different drives and the internal hard drive is a healthy 200GB.
